Our mission is to craft solutions that create
a more sustainable energy future for all Australians.

Driven by Passion.

Inspired by community.

Founded by two Gippsland locals who've always been driven by a passion for energy and technology. Living in the region, with firsthand experience of the positive impact sustainable motoring could have on our communities.

After years of tinkering, experimenting, and collaborating with local experts, we've developed a unique approach to energy that's centered around community and collaboration. We're proud to bring this vision to life through BuzzBay.

Collaboration
through Research.

BuzzBay has attracted the attention of some of Australia's leading research institutions - CSIRO, FedUNI, and RMIT - who were eager to support our innovative approach to energy and community.

We also engaged with startup accelerators like LaunchVic and Startup Gippsland, which not only provided us with valuable resources and expertise but also helped us connect with key industry players.

“We're grateful for the recognition we've received from the Victorian government, including incentives and projects designed to encourage entrepreneurs with fresh ideas and a passion for making a difference.

This support has been instrumental in helping us grow and develop as a business."

Jon Knight

Founder

Electronics engineer focused on the energy transition. More years than I care to admit knee deep in mission critical electronic and microcontroller engineering.

I bring a failsafe design approach into the heart of demand management systems and associated components. Early EV and Home Automation adopter, bending off the shelf components into software defined buildings.

Outside of the nerdy stuff I enjoy the gym most days.

Trey Knight

Founder

Bit of a nerd like dad, I like to tinker with electronics and automated systems like open source drones and aircraft, one of my major passions is the energy transition.

I see it as an important goal for the world and I'd like to contribute where I can to that bigger picture. Especially if I can build it here in Australia, and for Australaians to use and share.

I enjoy gym all days.
